sneak peek: mushroom dyeing Posted on June 9, 2014 by Sheepy Hollow Farm On Saturday, I attended a ‘local’ mycopigment/mushroom dyeing workshop (using native Michigan mushrooms). Aren’t the results fabulous!!!! Share this:FacebookLike this:Like Loading... Related
Love these colours. Would love to try this. I have only dyed with koolaid for needle felting. I’ll have to learn more! 🙂
The ‘THING’ about dyeing with native plants, mushrooms, lichens, etc, is that it forces you to get up, get out and get moving, right?? And it’s all FREE, responsible wild crafting/picking only please 🙂
🙂 I agree. Thanks for the advice! 🙂
WOW! Wouldn’t of guessed you could get all those lovely colours from mushrooms!
I know, right!!!! The only thing, you’ve got to get into the woods, identify them and pick them!!!! Not all mushrooms are dye-worthy, but there’s many natives in Michigan!!
Happy hunting! Jen
I know… I really want to follow-up with more details about the workshop I attended!
