That’s so beautiful! I’ve been looking for ideas to replace a lot of my lawn with, and the lavendar in a swath like that would look so good. How do you keep grass from growing up through it? We’re in Oregon and grass takes over everything.
Hi Rebecca! Between the rows of lavender (my footpath), I use porous fabric mulch (black cloth) and top w/shredded wood chips from odd jobs around the farm.
Without even looking at your post today I posted about Lavender too! Kindred spirits. Here in SE Ohio the soil is clay, so to help my lavender grow I added a lot of sand and lime. The Herb Farm Cookbook has a delicious recipe for Lavender Shortbread cookies. Yum!
