It’s all about color. People are attracted to color. However, lacking color, add lots of texture – for interest!
Maybe talking about roses (Herb of 2012) led me to make this shabby chic, scrappy flower brooch today?
Pull out your fabric stash… I used about 1.5-inch wide felted & ripped natural wool, some with seam binding still in-tact, tea-stained wool, burlap, lace… get the idea? Start with a central knot and begin to wrap & twist, stitch or hot glue until desired size. (This one is 5-inches wide.) Tidy-up the back by hand-sewing/whip stitch a wool backing.
Add a leaf or two, vintage buttons and… viola! A one-of-a-kind accessory!
RED would be really nice for a special friend for St. Valentine’s Day!
Jenny that is so beautiful.
So pretty! You are so creative!
thanks. anyone with a stash of fiber scraps, button jar and a glue gun can do it too!
