I’ve been fussing over a birthday gift for my mom-in-law since Sunday. Wednesday she’ll join us for dinner so I was anxious to complete this project ~toot sweet! BTW, I’m always working on several ‘projects’ at once. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad. I know, however, that there’s always something rattling around in my head which I’m very eager to scribble on paper, less I lay awake nights or worse…forget!!! No problemo with the 365 days create challenge. I could use a few more days in a year though, LOL.
Anyway, Shirley is a talented ‘needler’…is that a word? So, I’m a bit sheepish (hint, hint) about my gift and my primitive stitching skills or lack thereof! I modified the original pattern by Yankee Peddler that I purchased at a fiber show last Fall.
The needle keep measures about 9-inches X 6-inches overall. I added the rusty tin star and red wool needle felted heart for a place for pins. Everything is stitched together with a blanket stitch, a bit of feather stitch and running(?) stitch.
Inside,
…is a place for your needles and scissors and whatever.
I picked-up the computer ‘mouse’ 12-month rooster calendar from the $1 bin at Michaels…she likes chickens too!
I hope she likes it.
Such a wonderful gift from the heart & hand-how lucky she is!
I love it and I’m sure she will, too! I think the “primitive” style stitching really just makes it.
