It’s None of Your Beeswax!

Ever wonder how certain expressions or catch phrases got started? I came across an interesting article from a local honey producer – HoneyFlow Farm -  located in Dryden, Michigan and printed an excerpt below. You can find more at their website which I’ve linked in my fav’s.
…from the Southeastern Michigan Beekeepers Association Newsletter…
Today some of our commonly used [...]

Brrr- Another Chilly Morning

Let me assure you it was another bone-chilling morning at 4 AM with temps here at -11 degree F. The kritters all seemed OK as we worked our way around the barnyard busting out water buckets. There’s evidence of the goats and sheep nestled in the barn by the depressions they left in the thick bed of straw. 2009 Herb of the Year – Bay

Did you know…Bay, Sweet Bay, Bay Laurel – Laurus nobilis, is a tender perennial, native to the Mediterranean and is often grown as a clipped potted plant. Been making several trips to the barnyard to check on the kritters [...]

New Beginnings…

Use the time to muse over your successes and failures, and jot them down, lest you forget. Plants to order. Plants to ditch. Plants to move, and plants to give away to those who’ve been wise enough to admire them.     Alan Titchmarsh
Whether you’re a gardener or not, I find this sentiment appropriate this time of [...]

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Sincere best wishes for a Happy New Year to all of you! Like so many folks, I’ve made several resolutions for the new year. A few are directed at self-improvement – like becoming more skilled at weaving, take time to spin for ‘me’ , but more importantly, to give more of myself to the community. I’ve also resolved to “KEEP IT SIMPLE” [...]
